Belinda Bell Takes 1st Place in “Abstract My World” Show (Traditional Art Category) takes 1st place in the “Abstract My World” Show (Traditional Art Category)!
Belinda Bell from USA takes 1st Place (Best in Show) in Traditional Art category of our “Abstract My World” show with her work “Madame of Butterfly”. It has earned great praise from our show curator and juror Robert MacNeil who said: “This piece is very representative of today’s world. I felt the artist telling almost two stories, one of change or transformation and one of the pandemic. The wings feel like a mask and the faces of those lost. Fantastic work. Powerful image and powerful story telling.”
“Give me a paintbrush and I will tell you a story. I will tell my stories with line, shape, distortion, color, composition and lively twists. You will be surprised with “THE END” to my stories.”
Belinda’s short auto-bio:
I am a retired teacher of 25 years. My art career launched after retirement with a full time desire to paint. I dabbled in art for years with no clear path of how I wanted to tell my stories. Once I had the freedom to pursue art classes, attend workshops, and paint on a full time basis I jumped in with both feet. Some call my prolific production in art an obsession. I see it as feeding my soul and then sharing the outcome with an audience. I stay true to my heart when I paint no matter what subject is sharing the space with me. I was once told that with the wide array of subjects that I paint I must truly see the world in shapes. Bingo ….. and a warped sense of humor is truly a big help.
